ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

ADMISSION INTO FIRST YEAR (100 Level)

(a)  From remedial studies: On merit as recommended by the Faculty and ratified by Senate.

(b)  From J.M.E. (Joint Matriculation Examination) as recommended by the Senate Admissions Committee, approved by J.A.M.B. and ratified by Senate.

In order to qualify, applicants must also have credits in S.S.C.  at 'O' level or its equivalent in five subjects which must include Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and English.

ADMISSION INTO SECOND YEAR (200 level)

Direct entry candidates should normally have passed the G.C.E. at Advanced level or Higher School Certificate in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Zoology or Biology. Such candidates must also have obtained five credits at Ordinary level  in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and English Language.

TRANSFER REQUIREMENTS

(a) Within the University of Jos

(b) From other Universities

Candidates must have studied appropriate courses as for internal students, with a cumulative average of  B or higher.

All students requiring transfer to the Faculty of Medical Sciences would normally apply through the Registrar on forms available from the University Registry.
